Switzerland always feels so elusive to me. There are colossal mountain ranges everywhere you look, and the cities, towns and villages are nestled in the deep, green valleys below, almost hidden out of sight. They’re picture perfect landscapes, ones that will take your breath away every time you see them – you wouldn’t be wrong in saying that it’s one of the most beautiful places in the whole of Europe. Add to that the fact that it’s a playground of the rich and you’ll quickly realise that Switzerland is a perfect combination of luxury and stunning nature – it’s a simply timeless combination and one that makes Switzerland so romantic.

It goes without saying that there are a lot of incredible and lavish hotel resorts dotted around the country, with most of them hidden away up on the foothills or behind the smallest of villages in order to offer their guests the seclusion (and views) they’re looking fora. I’ve found one such resort which I think will knock your socks off – just take a look for yourselves!

Hotel Villa Honegg – a lavish resort in the Swiss Alps!

The Hotel Villa Honegg is an exclusive 5-star resort built in 1905 that has since been recently refurbished. This hotel has everything – classy, modern interiors, a wide range of amenities, and probably one of the most amazing views you can get from a hotel thanks to its perfect location. The hotel is actually built on the side of Mount Bürgenstock at a hight of 914 metres above sea level, so as you’d expect you’ll get uninterrupted views of the lake and mountains. It really has to be seen to be believed!

Honegg 12Hotel Villa Honegg: The bathrooms are well-equipped and equally stylish, with modern design combined with classic and timeless pieces.

Honegg 11Hotel Villa Honegg: One of the hotel’s huge suites. It’s possible to even rent out a whole floor or the entire building – this hotel is the only one of its size to offer that!

Honegg 4Hotel Villa Honegg: The hotel is located centrally in Switzerland, which means that you’re not too far from cities such as Lucerne and Zurich.

Gorgeous isn’t it? Whenever I see pictures of the hotel up on the mountainside I get some real Grand Budapest Hotel vibes from it! What I love about this hotel is that you have unmatched luxury and excellent spa facilities, but you’ll also have picture-perfect landscapes right on your doorstep. In fact the hotel can arrange a whole host of excursions such as horse riding trips, paragliding and helicopter tours, and during the winter you can expect to find some excellent ski pistes all around. As always pictures can never seem to do a hotel complete justice, so be sure to take a look at this stunning video that shows you around the hotel and its surroundings – you’re in for a treat!

With Zurich International Airport just an hour away by car, Hotel Villa Honegg is easily reached. The hotel can also arrange for you to be picked up from the closest station or arrange a shuttle to pick you up from the airport. If you’d like to maybe plan a holiday here one day then check out the prices here at Trivago! But be aware, this beauty has its price…starting from €631 per night…
