A dream holiday doesn’t always have to mean white beaches and crystal-clear water. Well sure – it’s always nice at the South Sea, but are you aware of the beauty of the mountains? The Alps are something special, impressive giants that have to be seen to be believed. Forget about the dreamy beaches for the time being and follow me to the most beautiful peaks in the world where you will find the prettiest infinity pools in the Alps!

The prettiest infinity pools in the Alps

Switzerland | Austria | Germany

You’ve got to admit, Switzerland sure is pretty! This Alpine country knows exactly the meaning behind luxury in nature, which is why I’ve gone and found three hotels with gorgeous infinity pools.

The Cambrian Hotel, Adelboden

In the middle of the Swiss Alps you’ll find a place where the air couldn’t be cleaner and the mountains couldn’t be higher. You won’t just be diving into the water, but into a relaxing idyll. Here you’ll forget about all the thoughts and worries plaguing your mind as you enjoy the stunning panorama of the mountains.

Villa Honegg, Ennetbürgen

It doesn’t get much prettier than this. Located high above a lake, you’ll be able to see the mountains casting their gigantic shadows on the water’s surface. While you enjoy some truly deep relaxation, you’ll be sharing your private sphere with mainly just a few cows who can see you as they graze. In winter you’ll be presented with a snowy landscape that looks as if it never ends.

Book The Villa Honegg

The Austrians love their mountains, which is why it’s not surprising that a few of the most beautiful infinity pools in the Alps are found here. The locals dedicate some of the country’s most beautiful viewpoints to their rugged peaks.

Ferienhotel Fernblick, Bartholomäberg

This hotel leaves nothing to be desired. While the specially built sky-pool appears to tower above the mountains, you’ll be able to enjoy feelings of weightlessness, as if you’re floating above the Alps.

Mountain Resort Feuerberg

This unbelievable hotel in the south of Austria is my secret favourite. Located directly on the piste, you can take your skis off and jump into a pool that boasts views to rival the South Sea. While you recover from your day the mountain landscapes of Kärnten are literally at your doorstep.

Hotel Tauern Spa Zell am See, Kaprun

Located in the valley you’ll see a gorgeous mountain landscape stretching out in front of you as you drift off in the skypool. Thanks to the glass outer wall you’ll have the feeling that you’re floating in mid-air and you could go and enjoy the Alps surrounding you.

Das Goldberg, Bad Hofgastein

Above the rooftops of Bad Hofgastein you’ll find a wonderful hotel that’s managed to combine design and nature. The unusual architecture will impress you – and the view from the bath isn’t too shabby, wouldn’t you agree?

Book The Goldberg Hotel

Aqua Dome, Längenfeld

“We put the Alps at your feet” – a great way to advertise a hotel, right? Now, admittedly you won’t find the classic infinity pool here, but despite that this unique spa landscape had to make it on my list. The basins look like they’re floating in front of the mountains.

Germany too has plenty of idyllic mountains and valleys that are just waiting to be discovered!

Panoramahotel Oberjoch, Bad Hindelang

With a view of the Oberjoch – quite rightly called the Gem of the Alps – you can bathe in a gorgeous infinity pool and let your spirit and thoughts wander over the mountains and the horizon.

Hotel Bergkristall, Oberstaufen

Located in the Allgäu Alps, you’ll get a panoramic view of the neighbouring countries of Austria and Switzerland and you’ll feel directly connected to the nature. In the romantic atmosphere you’ll be able to switch off and spoil yourself in the wellness oasis, while the deer in the hotel’s own park watch you as they graze.

Book The Hotel Bergkristall

As you can see, infinity pools don’t always have to go hand-in-hand with tropical palm trees and sun-kissed beaches. Even a panorama of the Alps will soon have your hearts melting due to its sheer beauty!
