The UFC star makes exciting announcement for the residents of West Dublin along with a number of people in the country as well!

As an Irish sporting figure Conor McGregor has courted a certain amount of controversy over the years since his rise to prominence. In his latest move thats sure to take up a few column inches McGregor has announced that he will open a theme park in the West Dublin area. Construction on the so-called “McGregorland” will begin in early 2019.

Conor McGregor to Open Theme Park

Love him or hate him McGregor certainly has his fair share of fans in his home nation. In his own typically outspoken way he has decided to leave his own particular imprint on the landscape of North Dublin. This announcement comes off the back of a recent visit to the attraction ‘Funderland’ and his own dissatisfaction with the level of thrill offered at the park.

In the past, there have been campaigns such as attempting to get McGregor’s face printed on the one euro coin or to have a statue built in his honour. He has however opted to begin his own legacy project for the people of Ireland. Many have speculated so far that this may be the impact of the birth of his first child Conor jr.

In a statement, the people that represent McGregor have said that

“Conor has become a sporting icon for Ireland and he wants to really give back something to the country that he loves so much. For years he has drawn on his own personal determination and grit to become something extraordinary. It is his hope that this theme park will cement his extraordinary legacy.”

The double UFC champion has already made a significant move in its development in buying up a parcel of land in the West Dublin area close to his home in Tallaght. We have obtained exclusive information about where the land has been purchased.
