Caesar Augustus Hotel on Capri – spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast

I keep finding hotels that are so beautiful I just HAVE to share them with you. The Caesar Augustus Hotel on Capri is one such hotel, where everything comes together perfectly. It’s gracefully nestled on the cliffs of the Italian, rocky island on the Amalfi Coast. If you want to visit this pretty place, you’ll have to take a 75 minute ferry trip from Naples into account, while with the smaller and quicker boats, the journey lasts only about 40 minutes. The island is loved especially by artists but ‘normal’ tourists still flock to Capri year after year. That’s no wonder with all the sights you can enjoy here. The blooming flowers seem to be brighter, the sea shimmers with turquoise tones and you won’t find a more delicious pasta, risotto and wine anywhere else!

Pure luxury in the Caesar Augustus Hotel

But what makes the Caesar Augustus Hotel so special? Probably the first reason is the hotel’s unbelievable luxury, as when you check in you’ll be delighted with the 5 star service, be able to enjoy fantastic food and have a great time in the garden or by the pool. If you’re still not convinced, you should take a look at the stunning photos!

Two decades ago, Caesar Augustus was a retreat for intellectuals and artists in search for some inspiration. Today it’s open for all visitors. The 5 star Hotel lies in Anacapri, a small village in the north of the island. This area should stay quiet and tranquil even in the summer. The port of Capri and the Piazetta are a different matter. These spots are bustling with activities in the summer months. Locals and tourists sit outside in the cafés sipping espressos and tasting the local fish dishes. There’s a lot of talk about it and the local restaurant owners reward their regular guests with an occasional glass of Limoncello. There are familiar faces all around – the size of the island is only about 10km² after all.

Guests of the Caesar Augustus Hotel can flee from the hustle and bustle to their own hideaway on the mountain. You’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view for booking the room with a jacuzzi.

If that’s not enough, you can use the hotel’s own infinity pool and admire the colourful Amalfi Coast with its cute little bays as you go for a swim. Not a bad alternative to a jacuzzi, right?

A night at the Caesar Augustus Hotel

One thing is clear – the views and the snug atmosphere of the island are worth a lot. The prices can seem a bit dounting in the high season but don’t worry, Capri is just as beautiful and exciting during other times of the year and you’ll have the chance to experience the sights in a calmer and more intimate way before the tourist masses storm the island. If you can’t resist this hotel’s beautiful interiors and ideal location, check out Trivago for some great prices! My tip: the restaurant at Caesar Augustus Hotel is first class! Light and spacious thanks to large windows, it serves up some excellent dishes made from locally grown ingredients. So even if you’re nestled up in another hotel, it’s a great idea to pay Caesar Augustus a nice visit during your stay and enjoy an unforgetable dinner on the terrace accompanied by incredible views! Have fun on Capri – don’t forget to bring back some sun!
