Slowly but surely the cold winter temperatures are coming to an end. Whilst some of you are still enjoying your ski holidays, others are already planning their next summer holiday. If you are one of the lucky ones who is already booking their summer holiday, then I have a great idea for you: how about a visit to a water park? Who knows, maybe your next destination isn’t far from one of the best water parks in Europe, and you can soon pay it a visit. Let’s go for a splash!
The best water parks in Europe where fun is guaranteed:
Rhodes is one of the most popular Greek holiday islands. A holiday in Rhodes is an unforgettable experience for many tourists – especially if a visit to the legendary water park in Faliraki is on the agenda. A wave pool, numerous adventure pools and exciting water slides, guarantee a lot of fun in the water. For the younger guests, there is an adventurous pirate pool, where there is a pirate ship with mini-water slides and water jets. Whereas, the older guests can experience the thrill of the steep kamikaze slide. If you want to briefly cool off without jumping into one of the pools, you should head to the tipping bucket. Every ten minutes, the huge bucket, which is mounted on a tower, pours about 1000 litres of water onto bathers. That’s what I call a real cooling off! This year the Faliraki Water Park opens its doors on the 8th May and closes towards the end of October.
Aqualandia Jesolo – Italy’s largest water park on the Adriatic
The Aqualandia water park in Jesolo, which is just a few kilometres from Venice, is Italy’s most popular and largest water park. In the park, which stretches over almost 80,000 m², you will find 26 exciting and diverse attractions, which are spread over seven different themed areas. One of the most popular areas is the Shark Bay, which contains real sand from the Caribbean and crystal clear water.
If you’re seeking adventure, then Captain Spacemaker is ideal for you. It is one of the highest water slides in the world. Here you’ll be catapulted down a 60-degree descent in an inflatable dinghy and reach speeds of up to 100km/h – pure madness! For the smaller bathers, Funnyland is definitely worth visiting. It is a special area for children, which is not only equipped with water slides, but also has cool parades and shows, funny clowns and cartoon figures. As you can see, Aqualandia has something for everyone. You can visit the water park this year from the 27th May.
Slide & Splash Waterslide Park – Bathing in the Algarve
Sunny Portugal is very popular among beach loving holidaymakers, in particular, the most southern holiday region of the country – the beautiful Algarve. If you go on holiday here, there is a lot to do, besides relaxing on the beach. One of the most popular excursion destinations is the Slide & Splash Waterslide Park in sunny Lagoa. Huge water slides, including a steep kamikaze and tornado slide, an adventure pool and entertaining shows, all ensure that the whole family will get their money’s worth when visiting the water park. Whether it is a fast-paced water ride, an exhilarating reptile show or a little relaxation in the rest area – there is something for everyone here. And believe me, a visit to the Slide & Splash Water park is the icing on the cake of any beach holiday to the Algarve. This year you’ll be able to dash down the slides to your heart’s content from the 3rd April.
