When is the best time to visit Jamaica?
The best time to visit Jamaica is the period outside the hurricane season. You can take a dream holiday to Jamaica in the winter months of December to March. An equally good time is the months of April and July. Between December and April, the island experiences its largest tourist numbers. As a result, hotel prices are higher, especially in the tourist Mecca of Montego Bay. If you want to spend your Christmas or Easter holidays in Jamaica, you’re lucky as you’ve picked the best time to visit Jamaica. However, I advise you to book an early bird holiday, so you have a better chance to get cheap deals. The reason the winter months are more popular for a Jamaican holiday than the month of July is because people are looking to escape the cold winter weather in Europe. During July, closer destinations are more in focus as it is just as warm there as it is in Jamaica. So if you want to fly to Jamaica at the best price, then July is your best choice.

In Jamaica, the weather is warm year round with an annual average temperature of 26° C . The climate is influenced by the northeast trade wind . This brings during the rainy season from May to June and from September to October, rain and stormy weather on the island. There is also hurricane danger, which is why an official hurricane season is advised. It rains especially heavily in the afternoon. In the morning and evening, it is usually quite sunny and a little less windy. Most of the rain falls in northeastern Jamaica. Depending on the altitude, the amount of precipitation fluctuates. In the highlands it rains on average more than in lower areas. In the summer months of July and August it can be very hot in Jamaica. With eight to nine hours of sunshine per day, daytime temperatures are 32 degrees Celsius. The most popular travel time is from December to April. In the winter months, Jamaica weather is best. When is the best time for a beach holiday to Jamaica?
Jamaica is great for a beach holiday all year-round. However, the months outside the hurricane season are the better ones for a beach holiday. The tourist high season for a beach holiday in Jamaica is in mid-December to mid-April. With an average of just three rainy days per month, the rain probability is insignificant on the Caribbean island. So you can spend your dream beach holiday in Jamaica in these months. In the winter months, the nights are a bit cooler with temperatures up to 19° C. So, you should take something light like a cardigan or a light jumper with you on holiday. The summer months of July and August are extremely hot. Daytime temperatures around 32° C and a water temperature of 29° C wait for you. There is hardly a great cooling down period here, as it is still warm even at night – temperatures are around 23° C. The rainy season begins towards the end of August and it carries on until November. In these months you have to reckon with heavier rain showers and partly with storms. When is the best time for adventure holidays in Jamaica?
If you don’t want to spend your Jamaica holiday lazing on the beach, but prefer to explore the island, then you can do so all year round. This Caribbean island nation is ideal for both for a round trip and for an active holiday in every month of the year. If you want to escape the mass tourism, then I recommend you avoid the high season between December and April. These are also the months with the best weather guarantee for Jamaica, but the beaches are full and the trips are overall more expensive. During the summer months, it can be very hot in Jamaica. The rainy season in Jamaica is from late spring (May to June) and in autumn (September to November), so travel is cheaper. However, during this time you will obviously have to tackle more downpours and sometimes storms. These should not scare you off, since they only last a few hours a day and usually happen at noon. This is time you can also use in for indoor activities. It is important to inform yourself about the weather during your travel time and be prepared for each case with appropriate clothing and other utensils.
