Malta’s always been one of those destinations that I can never get enough of. It has everything you could possibly want for an amazing break – breathtaking historic architecture, gorgeous coastal scenery and more lovely beaches than you can shake a stick at. If you’ve been dreaming of exploring this fascinating island nation, here’s your chance!
How to take part
Cork Airport had plenty to celebrate in 2018 thanks to loads of new routes opening up. One of the new routes that opened up was direct flights between Cork and Malta, and that’s exactly what Travelnet.ie are celebrating at the moment with their current giveaway. They’ve teamed up with the Malta Tourism Authority to give away a 7-night escape to Sliema in a top 4* hotel. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time in Malta or a destination you return to often – this is guaranteed to be the trip of a lifetime!
It’s dead simple to take part in the competition! If you check out @travelnet.ie over at Instagram, you’ll see they’ve been running a takeover documenting Charlie’s adventures in the country. Screenshot the last story of each day, post it in your stories and tag @travelnet.ie – and that’s all there is to it! The takeover’s been running for six days, so that means that you can enter the draw six times to maximise your chances. The competition will be running until 11:30pm on the 13th February, so this is your last chance to enter!
What’s up for grabs exactly? Well, how does a week of serious luxury sound? The prize is for a 7-night stay at the superb Victoria Hotel, a 4* property situated in Sliema just a stone’s throw from historic Valletta. You’ll also have complimentary breakfast on each morning of your stay as well as your return flights from Cork.
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring many of Malta’s top sights. Malta’s beautiful capital, Valletta, is just on the other side of the bay (regular ferry services will get you there in no time) and the “Silent City” of Mdina is just over 20 minutes away by car. For some truly amazing coastal scenery, head up to the smaller islands of Gozo and Comino – you’ll find everything from sea caves and romantic cliffs as well as the legendary Blue Lagoon.
