All-Ireland Hurling Final 2015 – A Nation on Lockdown…
The All-Ireland Hurling Final is the showpiece of the GAA’s hurling calendar. Every year, on the first Sunday of September, the nation’s focus is fixed solely on one place; the beautiful playing field of Croke Park. It’s gripping, it’s fantastic, it’s enchanting – and simply spectacular! Tickets for All-Ireland are like gold dust, every year. Even though watching the game on television is not as good as the real thing, it’s still unmissable viewing. For those who have not even the faintest of interest in the GAA normally, it’s hard not to get caught up in the euphoria of an end-to-end game of hurling.
Whether you’re a neutral, or if it is your own county that is going to war, it is always fun to try and predict the outcome of a game. Getting one over on friends or family who don’t share the same opinion as you can be hugely satisfying. This year, I have decided to add an extra bit of spice to your All-Ireland final match predictions. I have teamed up with a magnificent hotel, The Croke Park, to reward one lucky person for their accurate predictions, by offering a fabulous 2-night stay in our country’s capital, with breakfast included each morning in The Sideline Bistro.
The Croke Park is a stylish 4-star hotel, located directly across the road from the stadium itself. The staff go out of their way to provide a warm welcome for all their guests and create an inviting atmosphere. It has complimentary parking and Wi-Fi for all its patrons and is constantly receiving accolades to reflect its popularity and high quality service. Recent awards include “City Hotel of the Year” in the Gold Medal Industry Awards 2014, as well as being nominated as a finalist for ‘City Hotel of the Year’ again in 2015. It is also ranked as one of the best hotels in the city on TripAdvisor, consistently sitting in the Top 5 out of 172 hotels in Dublin.
The way to enter the competition is simple. Firstly, you will have to like my lovely page on Facebook and leave your score prediction as a comment under my Facebook post. Secondly then, you have to subscribe to my newsletter by entering your email in the field below. If you are already signed up, just enter the email again, you won’t be double-subscribed :) Once you have completed these simple steps, you will have been entered into the draw. So who knows, if you’re predictions come true, then you could be enjoying a much needed break in lavish surroundings before you know it.
You will have up until 12:00pm on Sunday, the 6th of September (the big day) to make your predictions. If the exact score is predicted by multiple entrants, then a winner will be drawn at random, once it is confirmed that each entrant has completed all the required steps. The same applies if the exact score is not predicted (it is hurling after all), then I will pick a winner at random from the entrants who had the closest prediction to the final result. With regard to the hotel voucher, it is non-transferable and the hotel will require you to make an advanced booking, as the room is subject to availability. Blackout dates for availing of this voucher will be the 6th, 19th and 20th of September and you will have until March 31st, 2016 to redeem your prize.
