Does this not look magical? It really is… and if you like to stay a day or two in this beautiful landscape of Wales then check out the hotel deal that I found on secretescapes.com.

You will stay in the stunning 4-star Ruthin Castle Hotel (83% on Tripadvisor + Certificate of Excellence) which is nestled in the Welsh woodlands that give the hotel its enchanted atmosphere. The castle dates back to Tudor times and has played a role in the legend of King Arthur before that. It’s not hard to imagine how it actually looked like 700 years ago because it is very we’ll preserved. The royal heritage lives up to it’s high class standard and melts traditional, valuable interiors with modern comfort. In the former moat of the castle you now find the luxurious spa who offers rejuvenating therapies.

So you get to spend one night (or more if you like) in the modern and luxurious rooms from where you have a fantastic view across the gardens and woodlands. Wifi, a sound dock system, as well as complimentary toiletries are of course free and provided in your room.  In the morning a full Welsh breakfast is waiting for you to give you power for the day. Go for a nice stroll in the gorgeous grounds and feel the medieval traces everywhere. Ruthin town is of course also worth visiting and nice for having a relaxed drink in their little cafes. If you are looking for something even more relaxing then you are free to use Moat Spa in the castle. The staff there uses natural products and make sure to focus on locally produced ingredients. So treat yourself to a relaxing massage. After that you will probably be starving, so perfect that you have got the AA Rosette award winning restaurant Bertie’s on-site. They serve healthy, creative cuisine from locally grown food and will spoil your taste buds… When the sun is shining you can even have a BBQ on the beautiful terrace and enjoy the fresh air with some good food. At the end of the day you can let the evening fade out with a nightcap in the Library Bar. What do you think?!

FYI: You can look for flights to Liverpool, then it’s an hour’s drive to the hotel. Or you take the ferry to Hollyhead.
