Now this is easily one of the most unique Airbnbs I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure! You can really feel like you’ve journeyed back in time with this mind-boggling Medieval ringfort in Wexford.
This class accommodation situated within the Irish National Heritage Park, and it’s an accurate reconstruction of traditional ringforts that were the norm in Ireland 1,500 years ago.
The ringfort is enclosed by huge walls, with a fantastic little look-out spot above the gate to keep any pesky intruders away! Walk inside the courtyard and you’ll find several traditional thatched huts clustered around. Everything’s built using traditional materials and techniques, so really if you love history or just want to treat the kids to a fantastic adventure then this is the way to do it!
Even the interiors are super snug with loads of cosy materials to keep you nice and warm. Outside you’ll find a fire pit, perfect for nights beneath the stars or even just toasting a serious amount of marshmallows! What’s also cool is that you also have free reign to roam around the National Heritage Park once all the visitors have gone home. From stone circles and megalithic tombs to even a little crannòg, there’s plenty to keep both young and old busy!
