Island Hopping Cruise of Croatia Package Offer

This deal is a bit of a tizzy, as flights from Dublin to Croatia are a bit complicated but please bare with me and get ready to experience the most amazing holiday of a lifetime. It is a week long luxury island hopping cruise in Croatia. A country of such beauty, this is the ideal opportunity to see it at its finest.

I have made this deal through a combination of package offers. There is the cruise package from travelbird.co.uk, a hotel on each side of the cruise from trivago.ie and flights from ebookers.ie. You will also need to hire a car from hertz.ie. Seems complicated, but trust me it will be the most amazing trip of your life and still at a low cost.

Cheap Flights to Croatia

First thing’s first, you have to get here. Departing from Dublin on Friday, May 01 at 19:00, you will land in Zadar at 23:00. When you land, collect your car hire from Hertz, from there it’s only an 11 minute drive to your hotel. There is so much to do in between landing in Croatia and flying back home, but I’ll get to that in a minute. On the way back, drop off the car and board the plane. The flight leaves Zadar at 16:30 on May 11, reaching Dublin at 18:35.

Car Hire in Croatia

When you hire the car, make sure you hire from Zadar airport on Friday May 01, dropping off at Rijeka airport on Saturday May 02, from where you will get a taxi to the cruise port. To come back, please hire a car from Rijeka airport on Saturday, May 09. From here, drive back to Zadar for a two night stay, dropping the car off in Zadar airport on Monday, May 11. This way you only pay for the car hire on the days you actually use it, and not pay for it to be parked up when you’re on the cruise.

Holiday in Croatia

The flight lands on May 01, but the cruise does not depart until May 02 so you have a night before in which you get to do your own thing and explore Zadar. You’ll be staying at the Apartments and Rooms Lavandula, which are brilliant with 5/5 stars on Trip Advisor out of 18 reviews. This is near the beach and in the heart of Zadar so you have time to get to know the area. In the morning you will drive three hours to Rijeka airport, drop off the car and get a taxi into Kvarner Bay to begin your seven day cruise.

You will set sail to the Island of Krk, full of lush vegetation, hidden coves and beautiful beaches before going to Rab, the Island of Love. On the third day you will find yourself back in Zadar, where you will have a guided tour to unveil the secrets of this ancient town. Following that, it’s to either the island of Molat or Olib, both of which have unspoilt landscapes and a peaceful environment. The next day, you will take in two islands, Ilovik and Losinj, full of stunning colours, before heading onto breathtaking Cres. Opatija is the last port of call, home to an abundance of nice restaurants and lively atmosphere. On the last day you can enjoy your breakfast before disembarking from the cruise. The cruise is a half board basis throughout the duration, so breakfast and a three-course lunch are included daily.

Now you’ve stepped off the boat, it’s time to get a taxi back to Rijeka airport to collect the car and drive back the three hours to Zadar. The trip will be finished up with a two night stay in the Apartments and Rooms Lavandula where you can completely relax. On Monday, it’s time to head home, just drive to Zadar airport, give back the car and have a nice rest on the plane.
