I have to admit something… I’m an absolute sucker for interior design. A beautiful hotel or apartment can turn a fantastic city break or holiday into an absolutely unforgettable experience. That’s why I’ve took it upon myself today to try and find some fantastic deals over at Airbnb for the festive season in Krakow!
Fantastic Krakow Apartments
Hotels can sometimes be a bit expensive in Krakow, but luckily there are tons of fantastic deals on Airbnb going right now. You’ll be able to stay in fantastic locations and wonderfully design apartments for pittance! Here are three of my favourites that I’ve spotted. :)
Artsy 1-bedroom flat
I was immediately drawn to this listing on Airbnb. Named the Edison Apartment, it puts you in a great location just outside of the old town just a 10 minute walk from the Rynek Główny square and you’ve got the main station pretty much just up the road. From the eye-catching posters on the wall to the vintage-style Edison lights hanging on the ceiling, the flat is minimalist but uses earthy tones alongside bright colours to instil that sense of cosiness. The parquet flooring and original wooden windows and doors add lots of character as well.
This apartment accommodates up to 2 guests and features one bedroom, a bathroom and a cosy kitchen will all the mod-cons you’ll need to rustle up a great breakfast or a cheeky little meal. Your host will make sure your fridge is stocked up as well!
Rates start from just €29 a night, meaning that this apartment is seriously budget friendly! There’s availability across the month so see what dates tickle your fancy. :)
If you want to be in the centre of the action, this fantastic apartment will sort you out just nicely. Just a short walk away from pretty much all of the Old Town’s sights, you’ll be right in the heart of the action in this apartment! The design and look of the place is seriously fantastic – there’s this perfect balance between old and new. Bare brick walls and vintage furniture are mixed with contemporary touches and light colours that really emphasise the space.
There’s space for up to 4 guests split across the two bedrooms. You’ll also find a nicely decorated bathroom and a small kitchenette which, although is pint-sized, still comes with all the mod-cons you’ll need to cater for yourselves! But of course there’s so many fantastic restaurants at your doorstep… ;)
If you’re travelling as a couple then rates start from €35 per night. But if you travelled as a group of six, the nightly rates are just €50 per night! Madness!
Minimalism at its best
As soon as I saw this listing I knew it’d be love at first sight! Situated between the Old Town and Kazimierz, you’re in a prime location with the best of both worlds right at your doorstep. This apartment is characterised by wide and bright spaces, beautiful parquet flooring and cool furniture crafted from old shipping pallets, giving the apartment that trendy industrial edge. The ceilings are wonderfully high up as well! When it comes to interior design, sometimes less is more!
There’s space for up to 4 guests, with a king-sized bed and two single beds, so it’s great for groups of friends or families looking to have a chill time. There’s also a beautiful open-plan kitchen, bathroom and a nifty little cloakroom area in the hallway.
Rates start from just €56 a night for a group of two – it’s slightly more if your group is bigger, but it’s still an absolute bargain that’s well worth checking out! Again you can customise your dates depending on the availability.
Home away from home
This is one of my favourite listings on Airbnb for Krakow. It’s bursting with Scandinavian and retro touches, but still has its own very distinct character thanks to the wonderful plants and the mix of neutral colours and natural materials. The hanging chair is a great statement piece and a lot of the furniture add a lovely mid-century touch. The apartment faces south so as you can imagine it’s lovely and bright during the day. The terrace is an extra bonus too – might be a little too cold to use it properly during the winter, but hey… you can just come back during the summer! ;)
The flat features one bedroom with a double bed, but there’s also a sofa bed in the living room, meaning that you’ve got space for up to 4 people. Both the bedroom and the living room have access to the balcony, and you’ve also got a modern bathroom and a kitchen stocked up with little things such as tea, coffee, and a loudspeaker in case you want to stick some tunes on!
Rates start from €49 per night for a group of two but again you’re getting fantastic value for money no matter the size of your group! Feel free to pick the dates that suit you. :)
There are so many Airbnbs for Krakow that are really charming, yet come with a very reasonable price tag. If you really are yearning for the beautiful markets, lights and that smell of mulled wine in the air, then take some time to have a little browse and get planning. Now’s the time to bag a great last-minute bargain!
