Finding a reasonably priced holiday for Greece in August really is a challenge. Of course everybody wants to get their spot in the sun in the peack of the summer… However I came across a fantastic hotel bargain on trivago.ie and found suitable flights on bravofly.com. So make your booking separately.

You will fly from Dublin to Chania and I admit that the way to the hotel is a bit of a track, that is why I have added more information about rental car options below. Your accommodation is located in Malia, a town in Crete which is famous for a great nightlife and loads of attractions to offer. Stay in the comfortable 3-star Kristalli Hotel Apartments (94% on Tripadvisor) which was, apart from the fantastic reviews, also awarded with a Certificate of Excellence this year. The hotel is ideal for families but also couples, who are looking for a calm location without being far from the buzz of the town where ther is loads to do. You can walk to the centre of Malia and also have the beach within walking distance. For anyone who is not so much a beach person, Malia has a great variety on historical sights and can impress with its beautiful and typically Greek architecture. The family-run hotel, will make sure that you enjoy your stay and gives you a warm welcome. Stay in their self catering studios that are equipped with a kitchenette so that your stay gets as convenient as possible. Relax at the swimming pool outside and enjoy the sun on the loungers in the garden. From the pool and snack bar you can always get yourself refreshing drinks or something to still your hunger.

This holiday is great for families or couples who like to have a fantastic beach close by, have the option of going out in the evening or at night and dine in some restaurants. You have plenty of opportunities to party through the night (maybe not so much for families…)
