Antwerp City Break
Fly from Dublin to Brussels and book yourself a trip up from the airport to Antwerp. You can find the link below in the bullet points. I’d recommend a train, cause it’s fastest and they run very frequently. The trip would add another €12 to your costs.
You will stay in the centrally located ASH Hotel, between the Antwerp Zoo and the river. The picturesque city is a popular among art lovers, fashion nerds and city breakers. Explore its medieval core where you can relax in great cafes before you hit the main sights. Antwerp Gothic cathedral for example is one of those stunning pieces of architecture, dating back to the 14th century. You might also be interested in visiting the world’s oldest printing press, which is exhibited in the Museum Plantin-Moretus, along with other old manuscripts and type sets. Also check out its book shop that actually dates back to 1700! With Antwerp being the birth place of artist Rubens, pay a visit to Rubenshuis, a stunning mansion from 1611, which was restored and redesigned as an authentic 17th century house decorated with famous Rubens’ art. For the foodies among you, check out The Jane! The former military hospital is now host to a 2-Michelin star restaurant with incredible interiors. If you don’t want to spend too much money there, simply grab a drink there, just to see this masterpiece of design.
